LABORATORIES

Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and material science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines.
The Department has 18 well-equipped laboratories and one central workshop, to give students sufficient exposure to practical work compatible with the classroom learning and through workshop exercise.

PANASONIC AUTOMATION LAB:

Macos install homebrew catalina. WCTM has established the Centre of Competence in Automation Technologies in collaboration with Panasonic. The centre has world-class infrastructure with state-of-the-art equipment, training kits, hardware and software. The centre aims to provide training to undergraduate students of engineering to meet industry requirements.
The purpose of this laboratory is to train the students to be familiar with the software and hardware of PLC so that they can gain enough experiences to meet the demand of the automation era. The facilities in the laboratory enable students to build a firm background in PLC hardware as well as software. Students learn about ladder logic programming, wiring different I/O's (analogue and digital) with PLC programming. They acquire the practical skills sufficient to design and realize the basic automation process.
