Hoyer Guitar Serial Numbers Explained

I stumbled into an old Hoyer SG style guitar that played pretty well. Has a few cosmetic issues but overall a solid guitar.
There is no serial number. I'm having a really hard time dating it but if I had to take a guess it would be 1980 or prior. I'll post pics after a while but it has a Vibrola style tremolo and a full pickguard. No guard around the knobs like I've seen in some.
Also, any other input is greatly appreciated. Needs a new nut and there are a few finish cracks but on the whole not too bad for what I want it for.
