Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 does NOT work with El Capitan

Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan’s now been out for a day or so, and you may be wondering whether it’s safe to upgrade. As far as Lightroom goes, there are a couple of issues under investigation so far. The big one – Nikon and Leica tethering is not working. Update 2016-01-27 – Nikon tethering is fixed in Lightroom 2015.4 / 6.4. Leica tethering is still waiting on an update from Leica.

I upgraded my studio's 27 inch iMac to El Capitan - OS 10.11 - yesterday. Today I had a studio shoot and the Camera Control Pro 2 software could not find my tethered Nikon D800 -it has always worked before. I also tried my MacBook Pro that is also upgraded to El Capitan - and the Camera Control Pro 2 there could also not find an attached. A good reason to not update to El Capitan on my studio laptop. I knew there was a problem with the Nikon software in general as they have not tested it against OSX 10.11 Nikon are very slow at doing these items even though they know that this will cause them problems as people upgrade.

Nikon software for mac el capitan 10 11

After updating the 27' iMac in my shooting studio to El Capitan (OS 10.11), the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 program cannot connect to my Nikon D800 camera. It has always worked before - and El Capitan killed it. i rely on shooting tethered to the camera so that clients can see the images as we shoot.

Nikon says that they will examine the El Capitan program ..... Of course, Nikon has had access to El Capitan for months ---- and they failed to get ready for the new OS from Mac ...... All too typical for the incompetent software engineers at Nikon ......
